300 came out five years ago, and now we’ve had two porn versions in the last week. Adam & Eve’s The Four played it serious and arty, and Caballero’s new The 300 seems to have taken the same approach. (Our store lists it as The 300: XXX Parody, but I don’t see the word “parody” or any hint of humor anywhere on the box cover.)

Adam & Eve Pictures presents The Four, a new highbrow big-budget XXX fantasy epic directed by Michael Ninn.

The plot and the visual look borrow from 300, but it’s not exactly a porn parody, more like an unauthorized XXX sequel.

Back cover blurb: “It is 480 BC and the 300 elite soldiers of Leonidas have been destroyed by the Persian army. As the Grecian forces invade Sparta, four surviving Spartan widows of the 300 swear revenge for their husbands and unite to assassinate Persian god — King Xerxes.”

The Four are played by Brea Bennett, Renee Perez, Nikki Kane and Cassidy. Other vengeful pornstar warriors include Veronica Jett, Amber Rayne, Alexis Love, Jennifer Dark, Maya Gates, Jana Jordan and Tristan Kingsley.

Annie Sprinkle in M*A*S*H*D

The legendary Annie Sprinkle appeared in a M*A*S*H porn parody called M*A*S*H*D in 1976 (sometimes known as Mash’d or Smash’d).

After decades gathering dust, M*A*S*H*D finally gets a DVD release as part of Alpha Blue’s Annie Sprinkle Triple Feature #3. (The other titles on the DVD are Interlude and My Erotic Fantasies.)

Alpha Blue Archives have done a great job keeping classic porn from the 1970s and 1980s in circulation in nice-looking prints. Huzzah!

Other M*A*S*H porn parodies over the years include Nurses of the 407 and Will Ryder’s recent Not M*A*S*H XXX.

We usually ignore compilations with punny titles if there’s no parody content beyond the title and box art. But it’s a slow week, and these recent titles were especially chuckle-worthy.

The original starred Tom Hanks as a congressman who helps Afghan rebels fight the Soviets by day and parties hearty by night. Julia Roberts played his love interest. The porn parody version features Cherokee, Lani Lei, Sammie Rhodes and Brandy Nichole.

A couple of the sex scenes take place in a “guerilla camp in the mountains” setting, though glimpses of LA sprawl in the background undermine the illusion.

Zero Tolerance director Mike Quasar turned out Pornstar Bootcamp this week. The excellent cast includes Andy San Dimas, Amy Brooke, Francesca Le, Ashli Orion, Gracie Glam and Katie St. Ives.

Decide for yourself if this looks funny or sexy or both.

One company is riding the porn parody craze with some sneaky marketing. In May, right after the Ridley Scott/Russell Crowe version of Robin Hood hit theaters, Cherry Boxxx released This Ain’t Robin Hood: A XXX Parody. The box cover and cast list looked familiar, and sure enough it turned out to be a reissue of the 1998 Throbin Hood: Prince of Beaves, which we had posted two weeks earlier.

Cherry Boxxx pulls the same trick this week with “new release” This Isn’t McHale’s Navy: A XXX Parody, which is actually a reissue of McKayla’s Navy from 2000.

It was a star vehicle for the now-retired pornstar who went by the single name McKayla. The cast also includes Alana Evans, Angelica Sin, Heaven Leigh and porn parody stalwart Mike Horner in the Ernest Borgnine role.

Europorn studio Relish also punned on the catchphrase “weapons of mass destruction”, but took it in a happier direction with Weapons of Mass Satisfaction.

“Weapons of mass destruction” became a ubiquitous media buzzphrase circa 2002 as pundits and politicians debated how to deal with Saddam Hussein. A very serious matter.

Porn director Jules Jordan twisted the phrase for his XXX release Weapons of Ass Destruction. It’s one of the great porn parody title puns in recent memory — so inappropriate, so crass, so stoopid, you can’t help but cringe and chuckle. Did someone really make a porn flick called Weapons of Ass Destruction? Dude, that is fucked up.
