CHiPs was one of my favorite shows as a little kid. Being a traffic cop looked so incredibly cool. The inevitable porn parody came along in 1988, Chocolate C.H.I.P.S.

The very un-PC premise: “What do two black dudes do when they want to make it with some white chicks? … Disguising themselves as highway patrol officers, complete with rented official-looking motorcycles, they station themselves along a rarely traveled road. Soon they find their victims. Beautiful, blonde babes going too slow on a fast road, too fast on a slow road, or just behaving suspiciously. They offer their ‘prisoners’ a choice between tickets and/or jail or … !”

Different sources give different cast lists, but Chocolate C.H.I.P.S starred some combination of Gail Force, Tiffany Storm, Angelique, Purple Passion, XRCO, Gail Sterling, Kim Alexis, Don Fernando, Billy Dee, Imperial Sugar, F.M. Bradley and/or Tony Montana.

A Total Eclipse of the Moon

Last winter we rummaged through the porn parody vinyl racks for a couple weeks. Among our finds: two Caballero 1980s flicks called Dark Side of the Moon and House of the Rising Moon.

Caballero finished the trilogy with A Total Eclipse of the Moon in 1987, now reissued on DVD. The cast includes Gail Force (on the box cover), Tiffany Storm, Purple Passion and FM Bradley.

No porn company can afford to license actual Pink Floyd songs, but if you hit play on Dark Side of the Moon right when the XXX flick starts, you get all sorts of spooky parallels. Probably.

Dark Side of the Moon XXX

Music Week at PORN PARODY was so successful, we’ve scheduled another week of shows. Another seven days of vulgar puns and double entendres on famous songs, album titles or band names. Rock on. You’re welcome.

In 1986, Vidco namedropped the classic Pink Floyd record with a porn flick titled Dark Side of the Moon. Of course “moon” has an anatomical meaning worth a snigger or two. And “dark side” probably refers to the featured star, a black pornstar who went by the name Purple Passion. (No one ever accused the porn biz of being PC.)

House of the Rising Moon XXX

The same year, Vidco followed up with sequel House of the Rising Moon, continuing the “moon” theme and riffing on the Animals classic “House of the Rising Sun”. The cover girl this time is Mavis De Noire (aka Mauvaise DeNoir and various other spellings).

The song dates back many decades, possibly centuries, and deals tragically with life wasted in a whorehouse. The XXX flick is likewise set in a whorehouse, though it drops the whole “mothers tell your children not to do what I have done” angle in favor of tragedy-free raunch.
