Not surprisingly, pornographers love the story of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde. There have been at least four porn parodies over the years.

Back in 1975, the great Harry Reems starred in The Erotic Dr. Jekyll, directed by Victor Milt, also starring Bree Anthony, Bobby Astyr, Zebedy Colt and Terri Hall. If you dig classic 70s porn, you shouldn’t miss this one.

In 1990, Ashyln Gere starred in Dr. Jeckel and Ms. Hide. The back cover explains (spoiler alert): “Ashlyn Gere is the very famous scientist whose experiments into what stimulates the depths of human depravity unleash a monster who’s sexual longings not even she can rein in.” Also starring Mike Horner, Celia Young, Madison Stone, Champagne, Peter North and Randy West.

In 2000, Paul Thomas directed Jekyll & Hyde for Vivid. It was a vehicle for contract starlet Taylor Hayes, and if you squint you can see the lame tagline “The story of Dr Jekyll & Mrs Hayes”.

Seduction Cinema made a softcore porn parody entitled Dr. Jekyll And Mistress Hyde in 2003, directed by Tony Marsiglia and starring Misty Mundae (yum) and Julian Wells.

Another film classic gets the porn parody treatment. Porn legend Paul Thomas directs The Graduate XXX, with Anthony Rosano filling the Dustin Hoffman role.

Looks like they hit all the well-known scenes and catchphrases, and even recorded some faux Simon & Garfunkel for the soundtrack. Bravo.

Longtime porn director Paul Thomas gets in on the parody craze with The Twilight Zone Porn Parody. Spooky stars include Jessica Jaymes, Kimberly Kane, Kylee Reese, Chayse Evans and Evan Stone.

True fact: Paul Thomas played St. Peter in the 1973 film of Jesus Christ Superstar. Then he got into porn and never looked back.

Thrill Street Blues

Hill Street Blues was the biggest cop show of the 1980s. In 1985, at the height of the show’s success, Western Visual made the inevitable porn parody Thrill Street Blues.

For whatever reason, they changed the cops to hookers. The premise: “Thrill St. Blues is a place where a local Madame has the best of the best in call girls. She has some with big and smalls, blonde and brunette, super sexy or super slim. All of them can rock your world one by one. With her as their Madame, their services are unconditionally undeniable!”

All the same, be careful out there.

Vivid made a series of XXX flicks based on Bonnie and Clyde around 1993-1994. These weren’t quite porn parodies, more like prestige porn remakes intended to prove that “porn can be serious art” or some such crap. The DVD box blurb proclaims them “a spectacular triumph of period sets, memorable performances and stunning stars.” Paul Thomas directed all four films.

Bonnie & Clyde: Outlaws of Love

Personally I like my porn as unserious as possible, but to each his own.

Bonnie & Clyde and Bonnie & Clyde 2: Desperado first appeared on VHS in 1993. For the DVD release, Vivid combined and re-edited them into a single film called Bonnie & Clyde: Outlaws of Love, cutting an hour of footage in the process. The DVD re-issue also replaced some of the original wah-wah music with Strauss waltzes. Ashlyn Gere and Racquel Darrian starred in both.

One snarky online reviewer notes, “Although the real Bonnie and Clyde operated in East Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma, the landscape here looks suspiciously like Southern California.”

In 1994, Vivid and Paul Thomas followed with a pair of sequels: The Secrets of Bonnie & Clyde, aka “BC3″, and The Revenge of Bonnie & Clyde, aka “BC4″.

At this point some of you are probably thinking, “sequels to Bonnie & Clyde? But didn’t they, ya know, die and stuff?”

BC3 and BC4 solved that problem by stepping back for a behind-the-scenes plot on the set of Bonnie & Clyde. “It’s a movie within a movie. It’s present day L.A. The set is brimming with the brand of sexual intrigue that just seems to follow Racquel Darrian wherever she goes! And the only thing hotter than the love triangle on camera is the love triangle behind the scenes.”

Asia Carrera, Dyanna Lauren and Isis Nile also star in BC3 and BC4.

In 1982, when M*A*S*H the TV series was trudging along in its tenth season, Caballero released the porn parody Nurses of the 407.

Character names get the usual naughty puns. Paul Thomas plays quippy surgeon “Jaybird”, and Jessie St. James plays “Hot Hips Henderson”. Other nurses include Kathleen Kristel (billed here as “Kristen”), Lynx Cannon, and Chelsea Manchester (billed here as “Tigr”).

True fact: the opening credits of the XXX version include overhead shots of the real TV show set. Probably stock footage, since porn studios rarely spring for helicopter shots.
