Sleepless in Seattle, the 1993 Nora Ephron/Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan tearjerker, spawned a bunch of porn parodies. Some took up the late-night talk radio theme of the original, some moved the action to different cities, and some just went weird.

The cleverly titled Sleeping With Seattle (1993) is sadly unavailable on DVD or online.

Gay XXX knockoffs included Sleepless in San Diego, Sleepless in LA and Sleepless in Harlem. Of these, only Sleepless in San Diego is currently available.

The Bachelor is back for a 14th season on ABC. In 2003, when the concept was still relatively fresh, the porn biz churned out a pair of parodies.

Sin City’s XXX version of The Bachelor features Steven St. Croix romancing eight female pornstars: Aurora Snow, Brittney Skye, Fallon Sommers, Hannah Harper, Hollie Stevens, Jezebelle Bond, Roxy Jezel and Taylor Lynn. The lucky winner gets fucked in a rented limo.

Gay porn studio All Worlds produced its own version of The Bachelor with Barrett Long romancing five contestant studs: Jack Ryan, Rocky, Danny Rhymes, Cameron Fox and Raul. There’s even a rose in this one. Awww.

Studio execs want Robert Downey Jr. to quit with the “Sherlock Holmes is about gay love. Also, Watson was the bottom” jokes. “The studio wants to position this as an action-packed adventure, not Brokeback Mountain 2.” But if it were going for Brokeback, what would the porn parody be? Sherlock Bones? Sheman Moans? Someone figure out a decent pun.

In 1975, Harry Reems starred in Sherlick Holmes. Unfortunately this film is not available on DVD or online.

The same year, David Chandler and Frank Massey starred in gay porn parody The American Adventures Of Surelick Holmes. Annie Sprinkle appears in a non-sex role as Holmes’s landlady.

The new Guy Ritchie/Robert Downey Jr/Jude Law version will probably spawn another porn parody or two in 2010.

Another celebrity porn parody is in the works. Gay porn studio JetSet plans a Levi Johnston XXX parody entitled Getting Levi’s Johnson.

No word on who will play Levi Johnston, but pornstar Lisa Ann has signed on to play fake Sarah Palin yet again. She previously appeared in the Hustler porn parodies Who’s Nailing Palin?, Obama Is Nailin’ Palin, Letterman’s Nailin’ Palin and You’re Nailin’ Palin. Presumably she’ll have a non-sex role in Getting Levi’s Johnson.

Remember the movie Down and Out in Beverly Hills? Nick Nolte played a homeless guy? Me neither. All the same, it spawned a few porn parodies, mercifully with no Nick Nolte lookalikes.

Traci Lords produced and starred in Beverly Hills Copulator for her newly formed Traci Lords Company in 1986. Studio owner Traci Lords had to pull the title off the market when pornstar Traci Lords revealed she was underage.

Also in 1986, Caballero made Beverly Hill’s Cox (sic) starring Ginger Lynn as “sultry detective Suzy Cox” going undercover to track “the Boner Bandit”. This one survives.
