Sleepless (Vidco)
Sleepless in Seattle, the 1993 Nora Ephron/Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan tearjerker, spawned a bunch of porn parodies. Some took up the late-night talk radio theme of the original, some moved the action to different cities, and some just went weird.
The cleverly titled Sleeping With Seattle (1993) is sadly unavailable on DVD or online.
Vidco went placeless and interracial with Sleepless. “Suffering from insomnia? Tune in to ‘Loveline’ on KFOX radio.” Rebecca Bardoux and Sean Michaels appear on the cover. Watchable online at Game Link or Hot Movies.
Sleepless in San Diego
Gay XXX knockoffs included Sleepless in San Diego, Sleepless in LA and Sleepless in Harlem. Of these, only Sleepless in San Diego is currently available.
This one also borrows the radio motif. “They’re on the air and loving it! These guys have hot and steamy butt sex in the studio of this radio building!” The front box cover shows a naked Alex Kincaid holding a big microphone. Sheepless in Montana
Back on the straight side, the strangest Sleepless XXX knockoff was Sheepless in Montana. “Brad was a poet from the city who journeyed to the country to clear his mind and find his fleeting muse. Then all the sheep disappear. And along comes beautiful Dyanna Lauren. Look. It’s Mickey Lynn and Kimberly Chambers. And the hot new redhead, Chase Manhattan. Before you can say ‘baaa,’ our poet gets his rhythm back.” WTF?
