Sometimes pornographers don’t even bother with vulgar puns. Sometimes they just take a famous rock & roll song and borrow the title straight.
Nick Gilder’s “Hot Child in the City” was a catchy little glam-pop single about the sexual allure of teenage runaways that hit #1 in 1978. The chorus went “Hot child in the city/Runnin’ wild and lookin’ pretty”. You’ve probably got that riff in your head somewhere.
Just in case anyone didn’t get what Gilder wanted to do with the hot child, the bridge went “Come on down to my place, baby/We’ll talk about love/Come on down to my place, woman/We’ll make love!”
I love the 70s.
The porn biz liked the title and liked the concept, so they turned it into a movie in 1979. Hot Child in the City starred Brenda Lockwood (aka Marcia Minor) and L’Oriele (aka Rikki O’Neal) as young women eager to break into porn. John Holmes appears in a scene recycled from one of his Johnny Wadd films.
