The French Connection won five Oscars in 1972, including best picture, best actor (Gene Hackman) and best director (William Friedkin).
35 years later, someone finally made a XXX knockoff. There have been many porn flicks called “The [name a country] Connection” over the years, but Marc Dorcel’s 2007 The French ConneXion was the first with a real plot involving international drug smuggling.
One reviewer notes, “All the girls keep their stockings and most of their underwear and jewelry on through the each scene which is what I like about [Marc Dorcel] movies as well as the locales he chooses to film at.” I like that too. The dialogue is in French, but the DVD has options for English dubbing or subtitles.
